Everton supporters had high hopes for Theo Walcott after the 30-year-old joined from Arsenal last January.
While it was clear as day for everyone to see that Walcott had not fulfilled his potential, the England international was still able to develop into a dangerous forward at the north London club.
With his pace and finishing, on his day, Walcott could cause any defence in football problems.
Bearing that in mind, at the £20.25m (Transfermarkt) Everton paid Arsenal for his services, it looked like they were getting a pretty decent deal.
However, with just three goals to his name in 30 appearances this season, that has proven to be far from the case.
All in all, Walcott has turned out to be an underwhelming signing, and Arsenal will undoubtedly have no regrets about selling him to the Merseyside club — especially when considering what they currently have at their disposal.
Unai Emery is lucky enough to be able to call upon Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, two of the most deadliest forwards in the Premier League.
Inside the box, Aubameyang is absolutely lethal, while Lacazette’s all-round centre-forward game is probably something Marco Silva would do anything to see at Goodison Park.
Unfortunately for the Portuguese coach, though, for the time being, he looks stuck with Walcott and Cenk Tosun, two forwards who just cannot seem to find the back of the net right now.
Considering that, for £20m, some Arsenal supporters will probably feel the club did a number on Everton with Walcott now looking way past his past.
