Following last week’s defeat to Burnley, the Southampton fans here in the Tavern are hoping they can bounce back with a win against Champions Leicester today.
It’s been a funny old season so far for the Saints, who have at times looked irresistible, then on occasion looked devoid of any goal threat and confidence.
Talk over at the pool table this week has been about team selection, and if manager Puel should look to make a few changes to the team for this weekend.
Our landlord thinks that a couple of the Saints players deserve to be given a chance, and with that in mind, here are TWO players Puel should give a start to this week…
Jay Rodriguez

The former Burnley striker was on the bench last week and introduced late on, but this week he could well get his start.
After a lengthy injury lay off last term, he will be raring to go and get among the goals, and a chance at home to a Leicester side who haven’t won away all season, could be his chance to shine.
Jordy Clasie

The Dutch midfielder is not really a regular in the team, but started the midweek win over Norwich in the FA Cup.
He might well keep his place after helping his team to a 1-0 win, and Puel could be tempted to give the little midfield dynamo a full 90 minutes.
If Clasie plays, expect an all action performance in the middle of the park.
