Former Sunderland striker turned Sky Sports pundit Niall Quinn has joked that if Yannick Bolasie endures similar performances to the one over the weekend where Everton lost 5-0 to Chelsea, he may need counseling.
Those comments certainly raised a few eyebrows here in the Transfer Tavern, with our resident Toffees fans still reeling from what was a very heavy defeat for Ronald Koeman’s men.
Quinn was writing for Sky Sports in a piece about rating the new signings that were made in the Premier League over the summer, with Bolasie being one.
The Toffees used their new found wealth to sign the winger from Crystal Palace during the last transfer window and Quinn largely believes he has been pretty decent so far.
Still, he’s in no doubt that the performance against Chelsea could have been better.
The Irishman said: “Yannick Bolasie has looked decent at Everton though he’ll hope to have better days than he did on Saturday. If not he will need counseling.”
Everton are currently seventh in the Premier League, level on points with Manchester United above them.
