He is a favourite amongst the Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern…
Football has not been kind to Jack Wilshere as of late.
After bursting onto the scene as a youngster, Wilshere has suffered a string of recurring injuries that have stalled his career – and a few of the punters in the Football Transfer Tavern have questioned whether he will ever turn out for Arsenal again.
The Arsenal fans in the Tavern would love him to, but they do fear that his injury issues could get the best of him long-term.
That is why his current loan to Bournemouth was considered by many in the Tavern to be a masterstroke – with Eddie Howe likely the man to bring the best out of Wilshere and get him playing again.
However, one pundit has seen the cynical side of the deal – and has proclaimed to Sky Sports that Jack Wilshere’s loan should only serve as a stepping stone before a permanent move away from Arsenal.
Jamie Redknapp is well known for a bold opinion – but this one is a particularly brave one.
He said: “I don’t see a future at Arsenal anymore, I think now he will realise he has got to get away from Arsenal”.
He continued: “If he makes that move he can show what he is all about. No disrespect, I think he’s a step above Bournemouth….He’s really putting himself out there”.
Wow – the Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are not sure about this one…
Wilshere certainly has the talent to make it at the top, and to suggest otherwise would be a pretty unjust statement to make.
A few of the punters by the jukebox have been wondering where Jack Wilshere would fit in at Arsenal – and they think he could definitely find a role – provided that he gets fit.
The contract situation surrounding both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil could open a door for Jack, whilst a spot alongside Granit Xhaka could also prove a good one for the young Englishman.
A move away? Our landlord is not convinced…
