Rangers fans on Twitter have been treated to one of the best weekends in recent memory. The Gers have completed the loan signings of Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis as well as agreeing pre-contract deals with Jordan Jones and Glen Kamara. However, it’s the signing of Davis that has really got the fans excited as the midfielder returns to Ibrox.

The loan signing of Davis looks like an absolute no brainer for all involved. The 34-year-old midfielder has struggled for game time this season, making just three Premier League appearances, so a move away was always going to be on the cards. The midfielder left Rangers back in 2012 to play for the Saints, amd six and a half years later he’s now making his Ibrox return to play under Steven Gerrard.
The only thing that the Bluenoses don’t like about this deal is that it’s only a loan, however, with the North Irishman being 34-years-old, the fact that Gerrard has brought him in for just the second half of this season could prove to be a masterstoke if the club don’t want to sign the player in the summer, especially seeing as by then, the likes of Greg Docherty will be back and ready for selecion at Ibrox.

To say the Gers are buzzing with this one would be an understatement, and they now can’t wait for their next game against Cowdenbeath so see Davis in action.
