Glasgow Rangers: Michael Beale ‘open’ to Ibrox talks

Glasgow Rangers: Michael Beale ‘open’ to Ibrox talks -Rangers News

Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth says Michael Beale is ‘open to talks’ with Glasgow Rangers, although the Ibrox board are ‘looking at’ other managers.

The Lowdown: Expected at Ibrox

It has been reported that Beale is expected to become the next manager at Ibrox in place of the departed Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

He is the former assistant manager of Steven Gerrard, who was Van Bronckhorst’s predecessor at the club, so could use his connections to push through a deal.

The Latest: Beale ‘open to talks’

Taking to Twitter, Sheth has revealed that Beale is ‘open to talks’ with the Gers over the vacant manager’s position, although they are also ‘looking at’ other candidates:

“Rangers expected to request permission from Queens Park Rangers to speak to Michael Beale over manager’s job. Told Beale would be open to talks. QPR not had official contact from Rangers – yet. Rangers looking at other candidates too.”

The Verdict: Time on their side

What the Light Blues do have is time on their side with regards to making a managerial appointment. The FIFA World Cup in Qatar is still in its early stages, and the Scottish Premiership season does not resume until mid-December.

Thus, the Teddy Bears can get a new manager in over the next week or so and they will still have time to work with the players not at the World Cup, and implement their tactics and style of play.

They have also been linked with the likes of Sean Dyche and Kjetil Knutsen, so it will be interesting to see if Beale is appointed as expected.
