Whilst Rangers are currently sitting in 3rd place in the Scottish Premiership, the Rangers fans in the Football Transfer Tavern agree that Mark Warburton has a lot of work to do.
The table is somewhat deceiving, in that whilst Rangers are 3rd – they are closer to the bottom of the table than they are the top – such is the dominance of Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic in the Scottish top-flight.
Warburton is, seemingly, well aware of the gap between the Bhoys and the Gers – and he looks set to attempt to close that gap with a few acquisitions in January.
According to HITC, that process has already begun – with sources close to Rangers telling HITC that the club are keeping tabs on Reading midfielder Liam Kelly.
The midfielder is largely a bit-part player for Reading, but having come through the ranks at the club – they are unlikely to want to sell the 20-year-old.
Kelly is best described as a creative midfielder that is perfectly comfortable with the ball at his feet. Able to play both as a deep-lying playmaker and as a number 10, Kelly’s versatility is one of his most impressive traits.
A few of the Reading fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have described him as a pass master – given that he is able to create opportunities and goalscoring chances out of absolutely nothing.
The Rangers fans in the Tavern would like to see him at Ibrox sooner, rather than later.
