Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are groaning after another rumour emerged linking their star-man to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Continental reports from Don Balon indicate the ten-time European Cup winners will aim to lure Alexis to the Spanish capital with trophies, suggesting Arsenal are incapable of winning the big prizes available.
The Spanish media outlet have consistently linked the Chilean to Real Madrid in recent weeks, first indicating Alexis ‘would love to return to Spain’, before suggesting Los Blancos were lining-up a €50m swoop for the former Barcelona man.
Whilst the Arsenal fans are boosted by Goal’s report Alexis is keen to sign a new deal with the Gunners, they are concerned that Arsene Wenger may be helpless to prevent Real Madrid swooping if they offer a huge amount of money.
Nevertheless, the fans at the bar are stating their confidence Real Madrid’s approach will be unsuccessful and suggest Rafael Benitez’ side should target Chelsea’s Eden Hazard instead.
