Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern thought that the last few days had been going too well so they’re almost not surprised by this latest setback.
The Hammers have been in trouble all season, in truth, but look at least to be safe this season now ahead of what they will hope will be a stronger 2017/18.
Things, though, have taken another worrying turn with the police conducting a raid on the London Stadium as part of an investigation.
Naturally, then, Hammers fans here by the bar are worried with the reaction on Twitter certainly escalating rather quickly since the news broke.
And, as is the way with football fans, the general tone taken has been one of mocking.
