Report: Everton could wrap up deal for 26-year-old imminently

Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern will be keen to see what the new era under Marco Silva and Marcel Brands can bring to Goodison Park this summer.

The Toffees will be looking to improve on last season’s performances and the locals in the bar will be expecting the side to be better from the off, having spent much of the year at the wrong end of the table.

Silva and Brands will be looking at making a number of additions this summer, as well as offloading a number of the squad as they have far too many players already, and according to reports have identified a World Cup defender as a possible target.

The Daily Star on Sunday, via HITC, are reporting that Marvin Plattenhardt will head to the Merseyside outfit from Hertha Berlin for a deal worth around £16million, however, it will not happen until after the tournament finishes this July.

Landlord’s Verdict

The 26-year-old is a solid left-back and would be a great addition to the Toffees this summer if he does join as he would be seen as a long-term replacement for Leighton Baines.

The Everton fans in the Tavern will know that they need someone with quality to arrive and strengthen that position and will be keen to see how he gets on for Germany this summer in the World Cup.
