Report: Pellegrini wants to sign 16-goal attacker from France, £13m bid needed

West Ham United are looking to kick-off their new era with a number of transfers this summer and the fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to get excited about their activity in the transfer market.

Manuel Pellegrini was appointed as the new manager last month following the departure of David Moyes and he has already been busy in the summer window as he tries to make the Hammers as strong as possible to ensure his side challenge for Europe next season.

The Hammers have already completed the signings of Issa Diop, Ryan Fredericks and Lukasz Fabianski from Toulouse, Fulham and Swansea respectively, and they are expected to announce at least another couple in the coming weeks.

The Chilean appears to be far from done with his recruitment drive, as reports in France are suggesting he is looking at adding firepower to his new-look side.

According to France Football, the Irons are interested in signing Amiens striker Moussa Konate and they will need to part with €15million (£13 million) in order to acquire his signature.

Landlord’s Verdict

The 25-year-old striker had a solid campaign in Ligue One last season, leading Amiens’ goal-scoring charts with 16 goals in all-competitions.

The Senegal international – who is currently with his national side at the World Cup – would definitely add an extra layer of quality to West Ham’s attack, something which the locals in the Tavern are crying out for.
