West Ham United are looking to use the lure of Manuel Pellegrini this summer to help bring in new additions, and the fans in the Transfer Tavern will be pleased with some of the names that have been linked with the club already.
The Hammers replaced David Moyes with the Chilean last month and they will be hoping the former Premier League winner can turn things around at the London Stadium, with the 64-year-old keen to bringing attractive football to East London, with the idea of achieving European football in the process.
And, according to reports in Italy, Il Messaggero are claiming West Ham are stepping up their efforts to bring Felipe Anderson to the capital this summer, as they have sent a delegation to meet with SS Lazio officials about a possible deal.
The 25-year-old has become one of the top targets for the Irons this summer and it has been stated that their initial bid of €30 million was rejected, but that they are prepared to offer €35m to try and convince the Serie A outfit to sell.
But whether they are indeed able to get a deal done for the attacker very much remains to be seen.
Landlord’s Verdict: The West Ham fans in the Tavern will be delighted if they can pull off the signing for Anderson this summer, with the Brazilian attracting plenty of interest during his career.
A concern that many of the locals may have is that the midfielder is starting to prove to be a costly business, and as such some are worried that the club’s board will not be prepared to entertain huge figures to bring him to the London Stadium this summer.
