The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are eager for Pep Guardiola to keep his title-winning squad together this summer. The Citizens stormed to the Premier League title last season, and so in order to keep their title, they’ll need the same quality and team spirit.
Unfortunately, though, one player has shown signs that he could disrupt that.
This is a huge blow for Man City, as Sterling is a very important player, and that’s certainly been reflected by the opinion of the Etihad faithful.
We asked fans, following the contract stand-off, whether Sterling should still be at the club next season, and a whopping 73% of fans responded stating that he should.
Clearly, then, despite the issues – fans are still hoping for a resolution.
Sterling was crucial for City last season, given that he bagged 18 goals and 15 assists. That’s a testament to his quality going forward, given that he offers brilliant pace, technique and, naturally, goalscoring.
It would be a huge blow if they were to lose him, and the fans recognise that.
