The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have spent all week trying to work out a solution to their side’s poor form. Despite impressing early on in the campaign, Mauricio Pochettino’s men have really fallen off the wagon over the last few weeks.
They’re without a win in three Premier League games, and a number of their usually consistent stars are struggling to make an impact in the English top flight. One player that is looking particularly poor is Dele Alli, who is rated at £54 million by Transfer Markt. Though he was arguably their best performer last season, the Englishman has been poor in recent weeks, and that has left fans questioning his right to start every week.
He can normally do no wrong, but fans are clearly fed up with his poor form, as the results of a recent poll seem to indicate. When questioned on whether the Englishman should be dropped, a whopping 88% of Tottenham fans responded with a resounding yes, whilst a mere 12% want Pochettino to stick it out with him.
That certainly suggests a change in opinion on the midfielder, whom last season would have likely garnered a unanimous showing of support from the Tottenham faithful. This season, though, he has lacked the quality on the ball, goals and, indeed, the passion that made him so popular last season.
He has a long way to go as he looks to get back to his best.
