Sell Erik Lamela: This £16.2m-rated ace would be far better for Tottenham

Erik Lamela hasn’t had a regular role in the Tottenham first team for over a year, owing to a mix of form and injury issues, and our resident Lilywhites aren’t sure that he’s ever going to recover.

Instead, perhaps it’s time for Tottenham to replace him, and our landlord thinks that they would find the perfect replacement in Lyon’s Bertrand Traore, who is rated at £16.2 million by Transfer Markt.

Traore is best known for his time at Chelsea. Though he wasn’t able to break into the team at Stamford Bridge, he did show glimpses of talent. After he joined the team during pre-season, the Burkinabe attacker looked comfortable amongst Chelsea’s seasoned veterans, and he even picked up a goal.

However, whilst it didn’t work out for him in London, he’s shown what he can do over in France.

Last season he picked up 13 goals and 4 assists, proving quickly what the Stamford Bridge outfit lost. Offering brilliant pace and directness, he offered Lyon a brilliant outlet going forward.

Able to play across the attack, he’d be sensational alongside the likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen, particularly when making use of his fantastic energy down the wings. He’s able to cut inside to tremendous effect, and so he’d be able to offer something different to the current Spurs forward line.

At just 22-years-old, he’s a player that is still developing, and so Spurs would definitely be investing in potential – but he’s proven over the last year that he’s good enough to do a job in the present too.
