Jose Mourinho’s rebuild of Manchester United is rather a long process of course, though the punters propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern are largely happy about the work he’s doing.
While this season hasn’t quite lived up to its billing at Old Trafford, those in the Tavern understand the nature of his rebuild and are hoping for better things next season. Mourinho wasn’t the natural fit for many of our locals, though appears to have won naysayers over somewhat of late.
Still, reports from the Sun have caused a bit of concern today. They claim the Portuguese was involved in a fiery training ground bust-up with fitness coach Carlos Lalin during Wednesday’s session, with the pair said to have been separated by another member of staff.
Though some of the Red Devils in the bar like this kind of thing, believing it shows an element of passion missing from the Louis van Gaal era, others hope it’s not the start of more problems at Carrington.
Lalin is understood to have worked with the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ at both Chelsea and Real Madrid so the drinkers in the bar hope it was just a case of two old friends clashing heads on a one-off basis.
