There are massive smiles on the faces of punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it seems Chris Smalling is the hero of the hour.
The Manchester United defender is one of the weakest in the league when it comes to his defensive actions but his goals to the team are growing by the match – and making him a rather important cog in the Louis van Gaal machine.
Come the summer, we think Van Gaal could well try and ship Smalling out but for no, he seems to be holding down his place. In fact, should United get rid of Radamel Falcao during the transfer window, they could try shoving Smalling up top!
