The Aston Villa fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a post from their club’s Twitter account. The club tweeted a picture of their on-loan star, Robert Snodgrass, leading to a number of fans urging the Villains to snap the Scottish international up permanently when he loan ends in summer and he returns to West Ham.

For Robert Snodgrass, life at West Ham was tough. The Scottish winger failed to hit the same level of form that he found at Hull City in the 2016/17 season after he swapped the KC Stadium for the London Stadium in January 2017. The winger started to suffer in London, with the fans getting on his back and questioning why the board pursued his signature. This season, Snodgrass has been performing at Villa Park and has shown what he’s capable of, scoring eight times and assisting 13 times in his season in Birmingham.
It looks like there won’t be a career for Snodgrass at West Ham after co-owner, David Sullivan publicly criticised the winger and claimed that his kids “begged him not to sign the winger” according to the London Evening Standard. At the age of 30, it looks like Snodgrass will only have one more big contract left in him, meaning a permanent move to Aston Villa could hinge on the club securing promotion to the Premier League next season, although it won’t stop our local Villains begging for him to join.
