After a very underwhelming start to this Premier League season, things are not set to get any easier for Southampton.
The Saints currently sit in 16th place having taken just seven points since the campaign’s start back in August and now face a daunting visit to the Etihad to face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City later today.
Southampton boss Mark Hughes, however, does not think his upcoming opponents are perfect, though he does acknowledge the difficult test they will provide.
“There are always elements of any team that you can look to exploit, no matter how good they are,” Hughes told the Southern Daily Echo.
“They get into winning positions very quickly which we can’t let happen. They are going to have a lot of possession and we need to be patient and know when to press and when we can’t press.”
Ahead of the game, Southampton’s official Twitter account asked supporters for their predictions and you can see the best of them below…
Being 100% serious here… City 6- 0 saints.. Hughes will come out after saying we did ok, we were the better team

I think we'll play really well against City and surprise some people…4-0 to City!

It's going to be painful to witness for those making the trip. I'm going to say probably 4-0 to City. The way we're playing, it's not even likely to be competitive.
