Earlier today, Southampton released Ryan Seager with the forward going on to rejoin his hometown club Yeovil Town permanently.
Seager had been on the Saints’ book since 2004, and showed a lot of promise as he worked his way through the different youth teams.
However, a serious knee injury while on loan at Crewe Alexandra would prove to be detrimental in his development with the 22-year-old unable to produce his best at further loan spells with Milton Keynes Dons and most recently Dutch second division side Telstar.
The Englishman will now be looking to put all of that behind him with Yeovil manager Darren Way ecstatic over being able to welcome him to Huish Park permanently.
“The opportunity to bring a player born and bred in Yeovil to the club on a permanent basis, couldn’t be missed,” Way told Yeovil’s official club website. “We know Ryan from his time with us last season but from seeing him in training we’re dealing with a different mindset this time around. I’m excited to be working with Seags once again.”
A permanent home elsewhere is probably what Seager needed with Huish Park being more than ideal.
