According to Calciomercato, Southampton are carefully looking at 18-year-old Marco Kana, who currently plays for Anderlecht.
Saints eye Kana
The report says that the south-coast outfit are interested in Kana, who can play in both central defence and central midfield.
He already has 20 appearances to his name with the Belgian giants, who are currently managed by Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany – Kana has been compared to the former Premier League winner.
Perfect for Southampton
Currently valued at £4.05m (Transfermarkt), Kana is unlikely to break the bank for Ralph Hasenhuttl and co, and that is just one of a number of reasons why the Saints should make a move for the youngster. Last year, he was picked out by The Guardian as one of their top 60 young talents in world football.
Belgian football expert Kristof Terreur was glowing in his appraisal of the youngster. He said he was a “natural leader”, adding that he would perfect for any team that plays “possession football with good technique, good positional sense and good vision”.
So far this campaign, the Saints have the seventh-highest average possession per game in the Premier League with 53%, and can boast impressive technical players such as Oriol Romeu and James Ward-Prowse.
Would you like to sign Marco Kana?
All in all, it seems Kana would be a fantastic signing for Southampton if they were to make a concrete move to take him to England.
