As quoted by Danish media outlet Tips Bladet, the manager of young Southampton target Mads Bech Sorensen has said that the Saints are definitely interested but so are many clubs.
The news has been partially welcomed by our Saints fans here in the Transfer Tavern as they are always pleased to hear that they are linked with some of the biggest young talents in European football.
They are, however, concerned that they seem set to face competition for his signature and hope that Claude Puel can do enough to make the club appear as an attractive proposition as possible.
The young left-back did reportedly visit the club recently, though, and that could be enough to sway him. He is thought to have trained with both the under 18s and under 23s during his brief stint in Marchwood.
Now, his manager has revealed a permanent switch could be in line in the near future.
“It is not only Southampton.” Bo Henriksen, Sorensen’s representative told the Danish site. “It is most clubs, not only in Denmark but throughout Europe because he plays for the under-18 national team.”
Should the youngster sign he’d be the latest promising left back to be involved with the south coast club. The likes of Luke Shaw have already progressed through and on to Manchester United, while the likes Matt Targett and Sam McQueen have played in that role this season and have both impressed.
