Everyone at the Football Transfer Tavern would like to congratulate West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce on winning the coveted “Smoothest moving Premier League manager” award this week.
Allardyce has proved that big guys really can move, with a series of jigs on the touchline – some born out of frustration, and others out of what looks like joy.
It’s more good news for the Hammers, who have climbed away from the relegation zone to the dizzying heights of the top half with three consecutive 2-0 victories over the past fortnight.
Allardyce was not available to comment on his award, but we think he will be pretty pleased.
It is sure to go on his mantelpiece next to his outstanding services to ugly football award, and most delusional Premier League manager awards picked up from 2007-2013 – an award he won for six straight years until Jose Mourinho made his return to English football.
