We are all set for the busiest month of the year inside the Football Transfer Tavern, following the opening of the January transfer window.
Whilst we enjoy nothing more than a pint and a discussion about potential signings, we do find the odd supporter makes some ridiculous statements.
The other week we had a West Ham United fan turn up for a pint and a chat about the clubs goal scoring problems.
Our landlord overheard him saying to his mates:
“What we need, is a someone like Lionel Messi.”
You think mate?
And here we have another example of a fan with unrealistic expectations, courtesy of our good friend the internet.
This Gunners fan was spotted with a ‘January shopping list’ for Arsene Wenger to take a look at.
On it were the names Diego Costa, Edinson Cavani, and Jackson Martinez – three strikers that would cost well over a combined £100 million.
He doesn’t ask for much, does he?
