Our Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern thought things were going too smoothly recently so they’re hardly surprised by this Romelu Lukaku situation.
Indeed, the Blues have been one of the form sides of 2017 so far with the way they have been playing and they still remain hopeful of reeling in the likes of Manchester United before the end of the campaign.
They’ll be hoping, too, that in the summer they can make the right signings and keep the right players at the club to help challenge for the top four which is why this Lukaku scenario is far from welcome.
According to The Express, though, the Toffees could swap one cracking young striker for another with Celtic’s Moussa Dembele coming in should the Belgian leave.
The young Frenchman has over 30 goals this season and looks like the real deal with this story naturally generating debate on Twitter.
Here, then, is some of the best of what has been said:
no for me. Scottish is terrible standard. Steve Walsh needs to earn his wages now.

would have to be alongside someone else. Clearly a lot of talent but players have looked great in SPL before

In a league where Scott Sinclair is the second highest goal scorer, I'd be cautious. Clint Hill had him in his pocket Sunday.
