Arsenal kept their hopes of a top-four finish alive last night with a 1-0 victory over Leicester City, which in turn kept the beers flowing for the Gooners in the Transfer Tavern.
Fresh from scoring the equalising goal against Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday, Nacho Monreal provided a decisive outcome for the Gunners once again as he provided the breakthrough in the match – although he can’t take full credit.
The Spaniard’s shot took a major deflection off Leicester defender Robert Huth, finding the back of the net and providing Arsenal with all three points on a night where their performance was rather lacklustre.
Monreal took to Twitter after the game to share a picture of him celebrating the decisive goal, jokingly stating he’s Arsenal’s newest striker – and he earned plenty of responses from Arsenal fans who were happy to admit they were wrong about the veteran.
The former Malaga man had been criticised heavily this season during Arsenal’s woes but his performances have improved significantly in recent weeks, with our landlord stating he’s handed himself a new lease of life at the Emirates Stadium.
