Our Stoke fans here in the Transfer Tavern are fairly happy with how things have gone this season and are pleased to see The Telegraph reporting that the club are looking at a new contract for Peter Crouch.
The Potters have been in decent enough form this year and won last time out against Watford, a game in which Crouch found the net.
The 6ft 7in striker has been in good individual form himself recently with another goal coming against Chelsea over the Christmas period and, with him closing in on 100 Premier League goals, a new contract could be in the offing.
The news highlights quite the remarkable turn around for the former Liverpool striker as he has spent much of his time recently getting splinters on the Stoke City bench.
He’s bided his time well, though, and with Wilfried Bony (on loan from Man City) not reaching the heights expected of him, Crouch has come in and done a stellar job.
Our landlord agrees and thinks Crouch is a true professional and thoroughly deserves a new deal for the way he has conducted himself and performed this season.
