Sturridge and Carroll together at West Ham would be great for these two reasons

Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hopeful about the club having a strong end to the season after seeing their form pick up recently.

The first half of this campaign really was something to forget for the club with them looking like serious relegation candidates for long spells.

Indeed, players were not performing and Slaven Bilic was under pressure but now things look a little happier around the London Stadium.

And, going into next year, the club will be hoping to be in a good position to get back to where 2015/16 finished off with a strong summer of signings crucial to that.

Our landlord reckons Bilic cannot afford to get things wrong again in the window and so he needs to go after players that are proven in the Premier League.

That in mind, then, here’s why the Croatian should get Daniel Sturridge in and partner him up with Andy Carroll…

A potentially classic strike partnership

Carroll would bring the power and aerial ability whilst Sturridge would bring the pace and lethal finishing – it really could be a superb partnership.

If the two can hit it off quickly and get on each other’s wavelength then the chances they could create for one another would surely see the Hammers win a great deal of games. It’s a little and large type partnership and they have always done well in this country.

Both hungry to prove themselves

Both players have been blighted by injuries throughout their careers and our landlord reckons this means that both will be desperate to prove themselves.

Carroll is once again reminding us of how good he can be whilst Sturridge is currently on the bench at Liverpool. If the two can stay fit and firing at West Ham, then, they’d surely fire the club up the table – spurring one another on in the process.
