The Sunderland fans in The Transfer Tavern are discussing reports that the club are looking at improving their defensive options in January.
The Sunderland Echo are reporting that the club are interested in bringing Olympiakos left back Arthur Masuaku to the Stadium of Light.
The 22 year old came through the youth ranks at Valenciennes and made his debut for the French club back in the 2013/14 season making 27 appearances for the club.
He made the move to Greece with Olympiakos the following summer and has gone on to make 35 appearances for the club.
During the summer reports suggested that the player was being watched by numerous Italian clubs, but only one offer came in for the left back when Genoa had a €4 million plus player bid turned down.
Masuaku has represented France at Under 18 & 19 level and is a serious talent for the future.
The Sunderland fans in The Transfer Tavern are delighted that manager Sam Allardyce is looking to make improvements defensively and wait to see what other players the club can bring in.
