It’s been a thoroughly miserable few weeks for the Sunderland fans in the Transfer Tavern, who have had to endure the joint-worst start to the season.
Few could have imagined the series of events that unfolded soon after Sam Allardyce was dancing on the pitch in May after keeping the Black Cats in the top flight following win against Everton, relegating bitter rivals Newcastle.
The Wearside club turned to David Moyes when Big Sam was handed the England job, though the Scotsman has been unable to even muster three points in his opening few months in charge at the Stadium of Light.
Now, reports from the Daily Mirror suggest Moyes could be in line for an axing should he fail to get his side to beat Bournemouth at home this weekend.
He’ll be serving a touchline ban for the meeting with the South Coast side, though top brass at the club are understood to be ready to end his swift tenure in charge should he fail to grab a much-needed three points.
With an international break approaching, those behind the scenes are reportedly ready to draw up contingency plans and hand whatever manager they go for time to work with the squad.
