It’s been another strong season in the Premier League for West Brom and the Baggies fans here in the pub are surprised at how well their side have done this campaign!
Tony Pulis’ side sit on a very respectable 44 points in the league and after some impressive performances this campaign, they’re going to be pushing for a top-ten finish too, with the squad finally looking to end the “boing-boing” reputation they’ve had for years.
And at the spine of any good Premier League side is a competent defensive partnership and few come better than West Brom’s pairing of Jonny Evans and Gareth McAuley, with the Northern Irish pair playing fantastically well again this season.
But it’s McAuley who has been especially good and courtesy of Squawka, we now know he’s outperformed every other defender in the division when it comes to winning tackles inside his own penalty area.

The burly centre-back has made 15 successful last-ditch tackles inside his own box this campaign, outperforming some of the other stars in the division with ease.
