Swansea City: Fans were buzzing to see Alan Tate return

Many Swansea City fans have expressed their joy after the announcement that club legend Alan Tate has joined Steve Cooper’s first-team coaching staff.

Tate has played over 350 games for the club and has spent the past six weeks working within the manager’s set-up.

The former defender retired in 2016 after a spell at Port Talbot and has been coaching at Swansea since, starting as a youth team coach.

The 37-year-old will now take on a role which sees him act as the link between the academy and the first team.

This is the second time a former figure has rejoined the club recently as Leon Britton was recently made the club’s sporting director.

Unsurprisingly, Swansea fans absolutely loved to see a club legend come back to the Liberty, and the responses on Twitter show exactly that.
