Tottenham talisman Christian Eriksen is subject to interest from two of the biggest clubs in the world, Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain, with the latter recently entering the race for the Denmark international’s signature (source: The Express via Bleacher Report).
Despite being offered an extension on his current contract, which is set to run out in 18 months, Eriksen remains one of the few big players in the squad yet to commit himself to a new deal, after both Dele Ali and Harry Kane recently tied themselves down for the foreseeable future. And with European giants circling, this reluctance to sign could spell the end of his time in north London.
Tottenham have been notoriously difficult to deal with in the past when it comes to selling their best players so it may take a little more than the financial clout of Paris Saint Germain to tempt them into budging.
Instead, they may opt for a cash plus the exchange of these two starlets to see the deal done…
Christopher Nkunku
Nkunku is one of Paris Saint Germain’s hottest prospects and operates in a very similar role to that of Christian Eriksen.
He broke into the first-team a couple of years ago and has been a presence in it ever since. And he deserves it.
Nkunku is known to float around the middle of the pitch, distributing the ball with mesmerising ease and calmness, much like his counterpart Marco Verratti. His work rate matches that of the Italian as well, sitting comfortably in front of defence as well as offering a decent attacking outlet when required.
However, where they differ is the speed in which they move with Nkunku, unlike Verratti, blessed with pace.
Adrien Rabiot
France international Adrien Rabiot looks set to run out of contract at Paris Saint Germain despite being one of their top players and Spurs are reportedly one of the clubs the owners are willing to sell him to, according to le Parisien.
The signing of Rabiot would be a great bit of business. His presence in the midfield would more than make up for the loss of the likely departing Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele, as a far younger, and perhaps more superior, footballer.
The way he orchestrates play from the middle of the pitch will likely remind fans of Luka Modric, and his defensive work – which is plentiful – is akin to that of the Wanyama during his better days.
Needless to say, the signing of Rabiot would be absolute sense, and Tottenham need to be pushing for the deal if they’re to let go of a few of their star players.
