Our Tottenham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are enjoying the way they’re playing at the moment and want to see some signings to help bolster their title chances.
The Lilywhites have had a top season domestically with them second in the Premier League table – level on points with Liverpool and seven behind leaders Chelsea.
Their Champions League campaign wasn’t as successful, though, and so if they reach the competition next season they may want to think about having more players ready for it.
Certainly, that preparation should start now with the transfer window currently open and one of the tightest title races for a while rumbling on.
Our landlord agrees, too, and reckons the men from White Hart Lane could have an even better XI than they do now if they sign the players they’re linked with at the moment in the coming weeks.
That in mind, then, here’s what Spurs’ potential new XI could look like come the deadline…
GK: Hugo Lloris

Lloris cannot be replaced and so he’ll be in the side come February. The Frenchman is easily one of the best ‘keepers in the league at the moment.
RB: Kyle Walker

The right back is flying and there’s very few around that could come in and replace him. Spurs are not going to be looking to replace him any time soon.
CB: Toby Alderweireld

The Belgian defender is one of the best in the league and as close to irreplaceable as you can get. He never seems to have a poor game and is a huge part of Spurs’ title challenge.
CB: Jan Vertonghen

Vertonghen is as important as Alderweireld to Spurs’ chances even if he’s slightly not as good. Their partnership is the best in the division at the moment.
LB: Danny Rose

Rose has really excelled this season and has become one of the best in his position. Spurs will be eager to keep hold of him to underline their ambition for the future.
CDM: Mousa Dembele

Dembele is a class act in the middle of the pitch. He runs the show from the centre of midfield and very rarely loses out on a battle leaving Spurs to control the game.
CDM: Ross Barkley

The Everton midfielder has been linked with Spurs by The Telegraph recently. Everton may not want to sell but if Spurs lodge a good enough bid we could see this one go through.
RAM: Christian Eriksen

Eriksen has found his rhythm this season now and looks set to be key for the remainder of the campaign. He gets goals and creates them so when he’s on song Spurs are likely to win.
CAM: Dele Alli

Alli is proving himself to be the real deal this season and really could be a huge star. He’s got double figures in goals already this season and could be a world class midfielder in the future.
LAM: Isco

The Mirror have linked Isco with a move to the Lane in recent times and our landlord reckons he could be perfect for Spurs. He’s got guile and craft and would fit in nicely in behind the main striker.
ST: Harry Kane

Speaking of which it’s going to be Harry Kane up top well into 2017 and beyond. Another player who’s proving himself to be the real deal, Spurs really do have an exciting looking side.
