The Sportsman Knows – Your Weekend Tip Sheet

A look at Saturday’s Premier League matches and angles which may lead to profit.

ARSENAL/FULHAM Arsenal have been a punters nightmare this season, dazzling on occasions yet suffering some shockers at home with a 2-3 loss to West Bromwich Albion and a 0-1 defeat to Newcastle.

Arsenal are a fair price set against my tissue at 3-10 but unless you intend to stick them in a double you may be better off playing on the Asian handicap at – 1.75 which is slight odds against. Only Manchester United have scored more than the Gunners in the League this season.

BIRMINGHAM/SPURS Not a lot standing out on this match and when the bookings points totals appear you may want to consider going under the line dependent upon price. Five of seven of Birmingham’s home league matches have went under 45 bookings points and all seven of Spurs matches. Referee Kevin Friend’s Premier League bookings index make-up this season adds to the confidence with an average of 29 points.

BLACKBURN/WOLVES Blackburn are the likelier victors here but I would be looking for odds against before getting involved with the home side after their mauling at Old Trafford last weekend.

CHELSEA/EVERTON My tissue price for the Londoners was 4-9 compared to the best price of 2-5 on offer. Chelsea have not been firing on all cylinders taking only four points from their last five matches.

If you believe Everton can keep it tight they may be worth a small wager on the Asian handicap +1.25 at around 10/11. Although David Moyes side have not been at the top of their game themselves, in seven League matches on their travels they have not lost any by more than one goal.

MANCHESTER CITY/BOLTON If Manchester City are to harbour any ambitions of winning the Premier League title in this very open season then manager Roberto Mancini has to start getting his side to take games by the throat.

Matches at the Eastland have been light on goals and that’s testament to Mancini’s cautiousness. On the match prices I prefer Bolton’s best odds of 6-1 as opposed to City’s 4-7 with the Trotters having lost only one away match all season.

WIGAN/STOKE Wigan were abysmal last weekend away to West Ham and Stoke are my tissue price of 7-4 with Stan James and worthy of consideration at 10-11 on the draw no bet market.

Who the hell is The Sportsman?
The answer in full is HERE but in a nutshell, he’s a man who knows what he’s talking about and unlike so many others, he publishes his track record HERE and unlike so many others, he has had his accounts either withdrawn or heavily restricted by several major bookmakers HERE.

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
