Our Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been in a happier mood of late, with the club picking up some positive results under Ronald Koeman.
The Toffees have long been a club who have threatened to break the mould of the traditional top four in the Premier League, and indeed they did under David Moyes on one occasion over a decade ago.
The current squad is looking excellent, and some handy additions by Koeman in the summer and in January have improved their chances of success considerably.
However, within the squad at Goodison Park there are a few players who seem to be massively overrated, and the fans over at the fruit machine have been having some long discussions about it this week.
With this in mind, we have taken a look at TWO Everton players who are crazily overrated…
Ross Barkley

The young England midfielder is hit and miss to say the least, and his inconsistent form frustrates the life out of many Everton fans.
It isn’t that Barkley lacks talent, but he does seem to lack the wow factor which many thought he would have when he first emerged.
Barkley can definitely be considered overrated as a Premier League player.
James McCarthy

Another midfielder player at Goodison who has attracted bids in the region of £20m, the Irish man is definitely not worth those big fees quoted.
McCarthy has gone well off the boil and fallen firmly out of favour.
Despite not being the worst player around, the fact he is being branded about as a £20m player suggests to us that he is overrated by some people around the footballing world.
