These 2 Everton youngsters seriously need to consider their futures

Everton fans here in the Tavern are hoping for a positive future under Sam Allardyce, with this season’s efforts not offering much in terms of reward for the Toffees.

Indeed, Goodison Park has been the host for many controversial moments on Merseyside this season, with one of their worst ever starts to a Premier League campaign causing for hostile crowds. Although, the appointment of Sam Allardyce has seen the Toffees climb away from relegation troubles, as a mid-table finish now looks achievable.

But, the biggest positive to come out of this season for Everton is the progress of some of their rising stars, as Finch Farm continues to produce some of the most exciting products in English football. Although, most of these have now gone on to seek loan moves for the current campaign, with a place in the Everton first-team yet to be handed to many aspiring academy products.

However, the most important factor for the progression of young players is regular minutes at a senior level, something that’s been a struggle for Everton to accommodate for with the troubles they’ve encountered.

Nevertheless, with a place in the Everton ranks hard to come by and players setting their sights high for future progression, here’s a look at TWO youngsters who should consider their futures at Goodison Park…

Kieran Dowell

The 20-year-old midfielder has been sensational for loan club Nottingham Forest so far this season, as a definite future talent that many of our local Evertonians believe could be in the England squad sometime soon.

And, his efforts so far this season from the middle of midfield are unheard of at Championship level, with the youngster already into double figures for goals scored.

However, there’re doubts as to whether Kieran Dowell has a future at Goodison Park, with the midfielder currently enjoying life in Nottingham. And, with youngsters already floating in and out of the Everton side, it’s safe to say that a permanent move away from Merseyside would be beneficial.

Ademola Lookman

The former Charlton Athletic striker arrived at Goodison Park in the January transfer window last year, and has only managed to make seven Premier League appearances so far this season.

However, the Englishman was shipped out on loan to German side Red Bull Leipzig in the January transfer window, where he’ll spend the remainder of the season with the club.

And, it’s safe to say that making this a permanent move in the summer would be the right choice for the youngster, with the Toffees previously opting to gift ineffective strikers a chance over the impressive forward. Indeed, for a player that has the potential to become a star in the near future, a move away from Goodison Park would be a blessing for Ademola Lookman.
