The Black Cats have really struggled in the Premier League this season, and for many of the Sunderland fans in the Tavern – the writing is already on the wall.

David Moyes’ side have  widely been tipped as the side to finish bottom in the Premier League this season, and by looking at their current squad – it is very difficult to argue against that suggestion.

Our landlord thinks that if Sunderland are to stand any chance of staying up this season, they simply must invest in new, high-quality talent at the soonest available moment.

January represents the only period in which Moyes will be able to progress his squad, and it would appear that he has already set his sights on Leicester star Leonardo Ulloa – but that is only the start.

With that said, these TWO players could follow Ulloa to Sunderland in January…

 Moussa Marega

With Sunderland desperate for offensive depth – Moussa Marega could be a great option for David Moyes.

The Senegalese forward is currently on loan with Vitoria, but he has been in fine form this season – and that will no doubt have alerted some of Europe’s biggest sides.

He has bagged an incredible 10 goals in just 9 appearances – and has proven that Porto’s decision to loan him out was undoubtedly a mistake.

With Sunderland desperate for goals – Marega could be perfect for Moyes.

Florian Klein

Florian Klein is not a player that Sunderland necessarily need – but he is player that Moyes would be wise to look towards.

Best known for his international exploits with Austria, Klein is a defensive full-back that would add some much needed defensive stability to Moyes’ back-line.

Sunderland have a fair bit of depth in his position, but they have been leaking goals – and Moyes may see the right-back spot as a weak area in his defence.

What’s more, he would add some genuine quality and experience – and that is exactly what Sunderland are lacking right now.
