These 2 players could potentially follow Luke Shaw to Spurs this summer

Chirpy as ever, the Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have been delighted to hear reports linking them with a move for Manchester United defender Luke Shaw.

The 21-year-old emerged under Spurs chief Mauricio Pochettino when the pair were together at Southampton and emerged as one of the most promising defenders in Europe under his watch, earning a £27m to Old Trafford in 2014.

So, the Daily Mirror’s story suggesting the Argentine could look to be reunited with the defender should Danny Rose leave for Manchester City have proved rather exciting indeed. However, with work clearly needing to be done at the Lane, perhaps he won’t be the only one.

As exciting a side as the Lilywhites can be at times, there are obvious deficiencies in the ranks and a big summer is required if they are going to push on and continue their challenge towards the top end of the Premier League.

With that in mind, here are TWO players who could follow Shaw to north London.

Isco

Seemingly perennially linked with a move to Hotspur Way, Isco is still struggling to command much of a regular starting berth at Real Madrid. Surely, with 18 months to run on his deal, Spurs should make a move for the classy Spaniard.

The notion of him pairing up with Dele Alli behind Harry Kane is a hugely exciting one for the Spurs fans in the Tavern, who hope he can bring Rafael van der Vaart levels of success to north London.

Harry Maguire

Though Spurs’ backline is one of the most formidable in the Premier League, Hull City ace Harry Maguire has been touted as a potential target for those on Hotspur Way. The 23-year-old giant has proved mightily impressive for the Tigers amid their revival under Marco Silva and would be a good backup.

Pochettino has a great record working with English talent and the ex-Sheffield United man’s capability in playing in either a back three or a back four could be of good use.
