Tottenham have earned themselves a reputation of bringing through youth in the last couple of seasons under Mauricio Pochettino.

Certainly, our local Spurs punters here in the Transfer Tavern are happy with the way their manager has brought through a number of impressive looking stars now playing regularly for the club.

The likes of Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Harry Kane have all impressed and so naturally, the expectation is that the team will have even more new young faces strutting their stuff for the team in the near future.

However, because of the young nature of the squad Spurs’ young players in the academy are going to have to do something special to force their way in.

With the likes of Kane and Alli easily having a decade at the top left in them they do not need to be replaced and so only the very special will make the cut.

It’s something our landlord has been considering recently and he thinks these two young Spurs players may have to move on…

Filip Lesniak

Lesniak is currently on loan with Slovan Liberec and that kind of tells you all you need to know.

He’s featured for the younger Spurs teams but hasn’t got anywhere near the first-team and could soon be out of the club.

Sometimes young players from Europe just cannot settle in this country and have to move on and that looks to be the case with this Lilywhites kid.

Luke McGee

McGee faces the conundrum of all young emerging Premier League goalkeepers as they try to forge a career.

Not only are they behind the main No.1, they are often behind the backup too in the pecking order and that usually signals that they should move on.

McGee isn’t going to budge Hugo Lloris or Michel Vorm any time soon, so he really should be considering moving on before his career passes by.
