The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to every game they play at the moment. It has been a pretty consistent season for the Lilywhites so far, and whilst they don’t always win, they always go into each game full of confidence – because they recognise just how good the players on display at Wembley are.

Mauricio Pochettino has built an incredible team of top quality players, but for Pochettino that is simultaneously a blessing and a curse. It’s great, of course, because he has so many players from which to choose, but it also makes his life tough when it comes to matchday. It’s hard to make the decision to drop players when they are playing so well just to give another player a chance.

There is, though, within the Tottenham team, a number of players that are simply undroppable. Their form in recent weeks has been sensational, and when the side have won, they’ve played a crucial part. This is what Poch needs to focus on.

Harry Winks

Who would thought this would be the case a few months ago?

Winks was given a chance in the Tottenham first team due to a few injury issues at Spurs, and he has grabbed that opportunity with both hands.

At this point, he has simply become indispensable to Mauricio Pochetino’s team. He offers such a calming playstyle on the ball, and that is so important given how intense the Premier League can be.

He’s only getting better at the moment, and Poch would be mad to drop him.

Harry Kane

This might seem obvious, but against Man Utd last weekend it was clear just how important Kane is to this team.

He offers goals, of course he does, but he also offers so much more. He’s the glue that holds this team together, and when they need a bit of inspiration, more often than not it’s him that pops up.

His moments of magic have been so key this season, and they will continue to be.
