The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are growing increasingly concerned ahead of their game with Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants are one of the favourites for the Champions League trophy this season, and currently, the Lilywhites are in their crosshairs. It’s going to be very difficult for Tottenham to get anything out of the game, but a decent result in Spain could make a huge difference as they look to progress into the last 16.

They’ll need to be in fine form as a collective for that to happen though. Any mistakes will really cost them, and so every single player needs to impress. Fortunately, though, Tottenham do have a few players that are able to go one step beyond their teammates by making a massive difference. Whilst Cristiano Ronaldo and co are the talismans for Los Blancos, Tottenham have their own heroes that can do some damage on the night.

Hugo Lloris

Tottenham have really evolved as a force in the Premier League over the last few years, and so more often than not, Hugo Lloris has had life pretty easy between the sticks.

That certainly won’t be the case against Real Madrid, though, with Los Blancos expected to dominate the game from the onset and throughout.

They’re one of Europe’s most dominant sides, and if Hugo Lloris isn’t on form, then the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema will be able to have a field day. Fortunately, Lloris has been in stellar form since moving to Tottenham, and that’s unlikely to change on a big European night.

If he’s on form, Real Madrid will struggle going forward.

Harry Kane

With Dele Alli suspended, Harry Kane will be tasked with being the difference-maker in the attack.

Kane has been lethal so far this term, and with so much offence in the ranks of Real Madrid, the Englishman will simply have to perform.

If he isn’t able to dominate the Real Madrid defence, that could mean disaster for the Lilywhites.
