The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern think that the international break has come at a bad time…
It’s been a fantastic few weeks for Tottenham, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side recovering fantastically after an up and down start to the season.
They’re firing on all cylinders, and with so many of their players performing well, it’s certainly looking good with regards to a prospective title challenge this term.
That said, the international break is going to interrupt their momentum, and so it’ll be tough to ensure that the whole side continues to stay on form.
However, the break could also have come at a good time for a few Tottenham players. There are a couple of players that have something hanging over their heads, and a good performance for their respective countries could make things right and even better for Tottenham.
With that said, these 2 Tottenham players have a point to prove during the international break…
Dele Alli

Dele Alli is unfortunately suspended for England’s first game against Slovenia, but he could come back into the fold on Sunday against Lithuania.
The Englishman has struggled for Tottenham this season, and so there’s a lot of pressure on his shoulders at present. Add to this the fact that he has often struggled at international level, and it becomes quickly evident how important a good performance really is.
If he struggles again, Pochettino will genuinely have to think about dropping him.
Harry Kane

Harry Kane has nothing to prove at the domestic level, but at the international level, the pressure is still on.
He has yet to replicate his form in a Tottenham shirt whilst representing his country, and until he does, there will continue to be question marks over his quality.
In a similar vein to winning trophies, in order to be defined as a world-class player he needs to do it on the biggest stage, and it doesn’t come bigger than representing your country.
If he scores a few goals like he has for his club, there will be no doubting his quality any longer.
