These 2 Tottenham players need to ask Pochettino for more minutes on the pitch

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been pretty upset with their start to the season…

An excellent season last year has been contrasted with a pretty poor one this year.

It’s not all bad, though. Tottenham’s squad is one of the strongest in the Premier League, and if Pochettino utilises it correctly – his side will undoubtedly bounce back.

Squad rotation has been a problem for him thus far, though, with a number of Tottenham’s most impressive stars, particularly young players, not given much of a go so far this year.

It is understandable, and Pochettino certainly deserves more credit than most for his use of young players. But they have worked for him before, and they can work for him again – he just must give them the chance.

This is something that much change, and simply put: these 2 Tottenham players need to ask Pochettino for more minutes on the pitch…

 Ben Davies

Ben Davies has been at Tottenham for a few years, but he has yet to really break into the first team on a consistent level.

It is a shame, because he is actually one of the strongest defenders in the Lilywhites’ side.

At 23-years-old, this season is absolutely crucial for the young defender.

His lack of game time says more about the strength of players like Rose and Vertonghen, but Davies definitely deserves a run out.

He would be a great wing back or central defender in a back 3 – and this is a system that Pochettino will undoubtedly want to try.

Get him in there, Poch.

Harry Winks

Harry Winks looks like the next big thing emerging from the Tottenham academy – but the punters in the Transfer Tavern think that his chance should come sooner, rather than later.

He has looked impressive this season, though he is yet to be given many chances from the start in the Premier League.

The Englishman could quite easily follow in the footsteps of a player like Harry Kane, but he needs to be given the opportunity to do so. Admittedly, it could be difficult with both Dembele and Wanyama impressing – but Poch must find a way.
