West Ham have improved immensely over the last few weeks under Slaven Bilic, with the departure of Dimtri Payet coinciding with a sharp upturn in form.

Our Hammers fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been looking pretty happy with proceedings of late, with most of their squad impressing on the pitch.

Bilic has managed to bring in some excellent players during his time with the club, but like any football team, there are those players who can be considered overrated.

Our Hammers fans who have been gathering over near the pool table have been talking about overrated players at their club this week, and our landlord thinks they have a point.

With that in mind, here are TWO West Ham United players who could be considered overrated…

Andre Ayew

Despite picking up an injury early on in his time with the Hammers, there is no way he should have been costing them the £20m they paid for him.
Ayew has ability, but for a fee that large, you should be getting a lot more out of the striker.

Time will tell if he proves us wrong, but at the moment, he is definitely in the overrated category.

Gokhan Tore

The Turkish international arrived in the summer with a big reputation as someone who could provide the Hammers with another dimension.

However, he has not quite worked out as planned, and despite being lauded in his homeland as a top player, he simply looks nothing of the sort at the minute.
