West Ham have had a bit of an inconsistent season in the Premier League this season, with their form hard to predict and manager Slaven Bilic feeling a bit of pressure.

A move to a new stadium seemingly hindered the club early on in the campaign, but that stigma has since calmed down a bit.

One thing though the Hammers have always been good at is producing young players, and the West Ham fans here in the Tavern are always happy to talk about their rich history of producing youngsters.

The likes of Joe Cole, Michael Carrick, and Rio Ferdinand have all been mentioned this week in conversations with our landlord by the pool table, with some fans mentioning some newer names breaking through.

With this thought in mind, we have taken a look at TWO West Ham wonderkids who should be nearing the first team soon…

Kyle Knoyle

The big central defender is still only 20-years of age and looks every bit the exciting prospect down at the London Stadium.

He has already made an impression on the first team over the last 12 months, and but for a serious injury, would have enjoyed a loan spell in the Championship with Wigan.

Definitely one to watch, and definitely a player who could go on to do big things for the Hammers.

George Dobson

A boyhood West Ham fan, it would be the stuff of dreams if Dobson was to go on and make a place in the first team his own.

The midfielder is currently enjoying a productive spell with Walsall in League One, and now in his early 20’s, he will be looking to come back stronger next year and fight for a place in the first team with the Hammers.
