Our landlord here at the Transfer Tavern has been rather impressed by the difference that he has seen in Hull City since the arrival of Marco Silva.

It makes you wonder if they’ve left it too late like Newcastle did last season with appointing Benitez who also made a big impact but, the Hull faithful will be hopeful that that’s not the case and they can avoid the drop with Silva.

The Tigers have had some tough games recently but their unlikely band of players have done well in holding their own with a win against Liverpool showing exactly what they can do.

And, when you find yourself in a battle for relegation sometimes you have to turn to unknown entities to try and help give your side something different that teams won’t expect.

With that, then, these two wonderkids could emerge for Hull City in the second half of the season…

JOSH TYMON

Although not too unknown to many, he is still somewhat an unknown entity to some. He has great talent that he has shown off when he has featured sporadically for the Tigers this season.

Tymon can offer something different to the other Hull defenders in the sense that he can also challenge the midfielders for a spot. It’s unlikely he’ll be at the KCOM Stadium forever as he has brilliant ability for such a young player at only 17-years-old.

JARROD BOWEN

Not as young as Tymon, at 20-years-old Bowen has a little more experience. The English striker has featured on and off for the Tigers and has shown promise when he featured under former boss Mike Phelan.

The Tigers signed him from Hereford United in a move that could shadow the likes of Jamie Vary if he can make it at this level. With goals being an issue for Hull City, calling on a youngster could be the breath of fresh air needed to bring them to the team.
