As starts go, it’s been everything we’ve come to expect from Celtic in the Scottish Premier League and the white and green corner of the Tavern is looking pretty lively too.

Brendan Rodgers has had a great start as Hoops manager – winning three league games out of three and leading his team to the group stages of the Champions League.

They go into the next round with Manchester City, Borussia Monchengladbach and Barcelona – it will be a real success if the Hoops can clamber out of such a tricky group.

And ahead of a big week, which also contains the small matter of a Old Firm derby on Saturday, we want to open the vault and take a look at some of the best Celtic signings from the past five years.

Who, if they’re still at the club are making a difference? Who were fantastic and went onto bigger and better things?

Leigh Griffiths

First in our list has to be former Wolves man Leigh Griffiths.

He endured a tricky start to life at Celtic Park, being used primarily as back up to Anthony Stokes. but really came into his own during the 2014/2015 season.

He dispatched twenty times that campaign but few expected him to follow that up again. How wrong they were.

Griffiths had the season of his life last season, scoring forty goals in all competitions as Celtic cantered to the League title.

Seriously impressive stuff from the former Hibs man.

Fraser Forster

Signed in the summer of 2012, Celtic pulled off one of the signings of the transfer window by bringing in Newcastle keeper Fraser Forster.

It’s a sale that Newcastle will have truly gone on to regret but for the Hoops, he was outstanding, even if his stay was only two years long.

A highlight? His superb performance in Celtic’s 2-1 win over Barcelona in the Champions League stage on November 2012.

A perfect performance which really rounded off the celebrations of the club’s 125th year anniversary.

Victor Wanyama

Another player whose Celtic Park tenure only lasted two years but Victor Wanyama certainly became a fan favourite following a move from Beerschot AC in the summer of 2011.

As we know from his time with Southampton and now Spurs, the Kenyan international is one of the best midfield enforcers in the game and his potential was clear to see during his time with the Hoops.

He featured over 40 times in both of his two seasons with Celtic and added two Scottish League titles to his personal trophy haul during his stay.

Celtic was the biggest time in his career in terms of development, as he was given plenty of game time to prove just how good he is.
