With Arsene Wenger looking to build a new generation of Premier League stars in his new look Arsenal side; it is expected to be all change at The Emirates this summer.
Granit Xhaka has already been brought in, and the Gunners have been linked with a whole host of top European talent including the likes of Alexandre Lacazette.
Whilst new additions are vitally important for the club, Wenger must also look to his current squad; and assess which players need to be kept on and who needs to be moved on.
Our North London locals here in the Transfer Tavern think there are quite a few names that should be on the way out of the club and moved on.
With that, here are THREE Arsenal players that seriously need to leave and join a new club.
David Ospina
There isn’t much to say about this one.
Since Petr Cech came in, David Ospina has always been second choice – and that will likely not change until Cech retires in a few years.
Even then, Wojcech Szchezney is still on the Arsenal books, and he will likely be the man to take over the mantle from Cech once he leaves the club.
In order for Ospina to save his career he needs to move on.
Calum Chambers
Calum Chambers has never really looked comfortable at Arsenal.
Signed from Southampton in what was a surprising move, he has always looked out of depth at his new side.
In recent months he has looked even worse, and a move away to a club further down in the league, or perhaps even in the Championship, might allow him to develop once more.
For the Gunners in their current situation, he simply isn’t good enough – and his time there isn’t working for either party.
Mathieu Debuchy
An obvious one. Mathieu Debuchy has been linked with a move away all summer, with the defender unhappy to play second fiddle to Hector Bellerin.
The Frenchman hasn’t regained his spot at Arsenal since his dislocated shoulder, and with the defender now getting older and Bellerin getting even better – barring a big injury he will likely never regain a full time spot with the club.
He is running out of time to be playing week in week out, and he will almost certainly leave the club before the end of the summer.
