There’s a few sore heads here in the Transfer Tavern this morning as some local Spurs fans decided to drown their sorrows after losing to Monaco in the Champions League.

It was meant to be the moment Tottenham announced themselves as one of Europe’s best teams and with the backing of a packed out Wembley Stadium, expectation to do just that was high.

They did however, succumb to a pretty sobering defeat to the Ligue 1 team and so now it’s back to the drawing board for Mauricio Pochettino and his men.

They now need to plan ahead for a way to get out of the group without their league form suffering and it could mean some of the Spurs youth products get the chance to lend a hand, as the Argentine manager gets to grips with juggling his squad around an ever increasingly busy schedule.

Our landlord certainly thinks some of them are up to it and reckons this FOUR should get the nod before too long…

Marcus Edwards

Edwards is one of the most talked about young players Spurs have at the moment as he seems to be able to score regardless of opposition or situation.

Throw into the mix that he actually prefers to play as an attacking midfielder you find a combination that many teams would love to have coming through.

Spurs have plenty of goal-scoring midfielders and Edwards could be the latest.

Josh Onomah

Onomah has made a handful of appearances now for Spurs particularly in last season’s Europa League as well as a couple of cameo showings in the Premier League this season.

He gives Spurs pace out on the wings, something they need, and doesn’t seem scared to take players on.

Expect more appearances from him as the season carries on, perhaps even starting.

Harry Winks

Winks made his first league appearance last season and will be hungry for more this time around.

Another talented midfielder to come through at Spurs, Winks has also worked his way up to England U-20 level where he has made eight appearances.

He has his work cut out to get ahead of Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele but if he can do so, Spurs will have a real player on their hands.

Kyle Walker-Peters

He certainly has the name to suggest he’s going to make it to the highest level.

Kyle Walker-Peters is of no relation to Spurs’ established right-back Kyle Walker but does have similarities in the fact that he plays in the defensive third of the pitch but as as left-back.

He was a big part of Spurs U-21 side last year and will be pushing to step up this campaign.
